10 Things to do while waiting when you are Microwaving
Instead of just looking at the timer count down, there are more productive things you can be doing while trying to pass the time while waiting for the microwave to finish. Most things are microwaved in 30 seconds to a minute. But, you can be microwaving something for 3 or 4 minutes. Any of these suggestions will work no matter how long you microwave while you are waiting. Well, maybe not if you are microwaving for 30 minutes.
Pick your favorite stretch like touching your toes. If you don’t like bending over, then do an upper body stretch like clasping your hands behind your back and stretching your chest. Or, perform your least favorite stretch! Challenge yourself. Why not learn some Yoga?
2. Deep Breathing
Take deep, slow breaths in and slowly exhale each breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth. This will also give you more patience while your food is cooking away. Plus, it will give you a good whiff of what you are cooking. Why not learn some more Yoga?
3. Go for a Walk
If you have something in the microwave for 3 minutes, why stand around? Go for a 3 minute power walk. Try to time it perfect so that you are in front of the microwave when it dings!
I think we all sing in the car, so why not try it when you are cooking some good old radiated food. Even if you sing bad, do it anyways.
Why not try to boogie? What else do you have to do? Just no line dancing please. That is a group activity.
Catch up on some texting chit chat. Just don’t keep texting if your food is done and someone is waiting in line behind you. You are already using microwave radiation, what could a little more hurt?
Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. You might want to combine this with #2. Stress relief for sure. There sure are a lot of Yoga things you can do while trying to pass the time. Hope you like Yoga.
8. Jump up and down
Jump! Jump! Get that blood flowing. This might be a lot more fun than Yoga.
9. Drink a Glass of Water
What better way to get your daily quantity of water. I always have a hard time getting my 8 glasses. This will help you out with a few of those.
10. Push-ups or Sit-ups
For the ambitious folks. See how many you can do in a minute. Don’t forget to wash your hands. Maybe you can do some Yoga sit-ups.
