Fall is right around the corner, and school is back in session. Although there are those of us who will look back and miss the hot summer days by the pool, there are plenty of things to embrace about the fall.
Remember when you were a kid and your mom would make you rake leaves? I always loved it. I would rake them into one big pile, and take off running as fast as I could and then jump into the leaves. They would fly everywhere.
As an adult, raking leaves is a great way to spend time outdoors, enjoy your kids, and also get a great workout.
Fall colors are beautiful. Deep burnt orange, yellows, and golds set against the canvas of the bright blue sky can be breathtaking. Taking a leaf tour is a great activity, especially in New England.
Gone are the days of humid air. Crisp, clean and cool air is a blessing. It’s a great feeling to breath in fresh air while taking a run or a brisk walk. Take the opportunity for the last couple bonfires of the year before it gets too cold.
Sweatshirts are a fall staple. Nothing is cozier than your favorite pair of jeans and a nice, soft sweatshirt. Even better is when you can go outside without a coat, staying nice and cozy in your fall staple outfit.
Football is a fall must! Heading out to a high school or college game is a delight, as is hosting Football Sunday and Monday parties at your house. The start of the football season is a sure sign that fall is finally here.
Halloween is right around the corner, and nothing is more fun than carving a pumpkin. Scary, funny and decorative creations are easy to make and are only a pumpkin, knife and spoon away.
Fall is prime apple harvesting time, and nothing tastes better than fresh apple cider right from the orchard. Get some fresh cake donuts and pour yourself a nice, tall cold glass and revel in the beauty of fall.
