Okay, it’s not exactly euphoria, but 100,000 page views is a significant milestone on AC for me and something to celebrate.
Page views: one of life’s mysteries
My page view count stands at a few hundred below the celebratory mark at this writing. To complicate matters, AC announces that page views won’t be posted daily. So, maybe I made the goal. Maybe not, but maybe I did but just don’t know it. I don’t know a lot. My up-to-the-minute page view count counts among other mysteries in life.
One hundred thousand page views is a pittance compared to others. Some AC writers get this in a day, a week, or a month. I’ve been writing for AC for a year and five months. Not exactly a sprint on my part to such a significant milestone.
I like it
One accounting for my leisurely waltz to the milestone is of my own doing. I write for myself rather than for page views. If readers find what I write enjoyable to read for whatever reason, I’m happy. And I’m glad to have made others happy, or informed, or enlightened, or amused with what I write. That’s what it’s all about. Not about page views.
Page view logic
The logicians in my audience will point out that making others happy, informed, enlightened, or amused is reflected in the page view count. Okay, okay. You got me there. I never said I was logical.
More to come
Feel free to point out other flaws in my thinking. I welcome tips for improvement in making my readers happy, informed, enlightened, and amused any time, from anywhere.
Without your fellowship and your followship (I made that word up. It’s a good one, don’t you think?), 100,000 page views would have been impossible, no matter how much I like to write.
This article is all about the people who made all those thousands of page views accumulate on my page. I thank you and look forward to meeting more milestones with you. Without you, I’m just another printed word on a page.
