#1: Christmas Around the World
Houston Museum of Natural Science is bringing back their “Christmas Around the World” event on Tuesday, December 7th. This event is designed to teach your child how other cultures celebrate Christmas all around the world. Tickets are $20 dollars per child. One adult can get in free with their child’s ticket. #2: 48th Annual Candlelight Tour
The Heritage Society will be holding their 48th annual candlelight tour on December 10th & 11th; starting at 6:30 PM and ending at 9:30 PM. Costumed actors will perform in historical reenactments of holiday celebrations from long ago. There will be crafters that will give you a look on what crafts were made in the past. There will even be a tent that you can make holiday crafts and have your picture taken with good old Santa Claus himself. Pathways will be lit by candlelight. Ticket prices are $10 dollars for adults, $5 dollars for seniors 65 or over, $5 dollars for students and children. Kids 5 or under are free with a paid parent. #3: Bayou Bend Family Day
Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens is having a family day on December 19th with a holiday theme called “The Holiday Tradition.” Guests can enjoy beautiful decorations, songs & stories about Christmas, Hanukkah, etc. You will also have the chance to make Christmas ornaments on the grounds. Snacks will be available. This is free to attend. It starts at 1 PM and ends at 5 PM. The last time you can enter the event is 4:30 PM. #4: 9th Annual Holiday Market with Santa Claus
Start the holiday season out right by letting your kids meet Santa Claus. On November 27th from 12 PM to 4 PM, they can meet the toy man himself at Trader’s Village. In addition to a photo op with Santa, you can do some of your holiday shopping. Trader’s Village is well known for having bargains during their holiday market. There will also be holiday food and other activities for your family to partake in. The event is free but parking is $3 dollars. Trader’s Village is located at 7979 North Eldridge Road in Houston. #5: Frosty the Snowman
Introduce your kids to one of the classic tales of Christmas, Frosty the Snowman. The Express Children’s Theatre is having the tale performed live November 20th through December 27th. Tickets are $8 dollars per person or you can buy a season pass for $60 dollars that will let one person see several shows which will save you money if you are a frequent attendee. Dates for the play are November 20th & 27th at 2 PM, December 3rd at 11 AM, December 4th, 11th * 18th at 2 PM and December 17th & 22nd at 11 AM.
