2010 Emmy’s are already getting awarded. Some 2010 Emmy’s were handed out on Saturday during the 2010 Creative Emmy Awards presentation. One of the big winners was the mini-series The Pacific, which took home six awards for network HBO. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are basically for all of the categories that don’t make it to the live primetime version of the Emmy show, but they have equal meaning for all of the winners. For many people, this is the time to shine, and it is where networks like HBO can really bring home a high number of awards. HBO won 17 Creative Arts Emmy’s as a network, which made them the big winner for Saturday.
Other winners on Saturday included Betty White for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her appearance on Saturday Night Live. Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series went to John Lithgow for his turn on Dexter, and Best Cinematography for a One-Hour Show went to CSI. Best Variety Writing went to Colbert Report, Best Guest Actress on a Drama Series went to Ann-Margret for her turn on Law & Order: SVU, and the Best Children’s Program was awarded to Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. It was quite an interesting night, but it’s also unfortunate that most of these winners won’t be featured during the primetime presentation on August 29.
