The Third Annual Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival will be held Oct. 7 to Oct. 10 in the Meatpacking District. The festival includes tastings, culinary demonstrations, wine and food pairings, and interactive cooking events geared toward young people. Ticket prices and availability vary, with many events already sold out. For tickets and information, check out www.nycwineandfoodfestival.com/2010/.
The New York City Wine & Food Festival will not only feature great events but also will benefit excellent causes. The Food Bank for New York City helps to provide 400,000 free meals per day to New Yorkers in need. (For every dollar donated to the Food Bank, five meals are provided.) Share Our Strength is a national organization that works to ensure no child in America grows up hungry.
If you can’t make it to one of the events or they are all sold out, consider making a donation to one or both of these worthwhile causes.
