The 2010 Playoffs are going to be a spectacle this year as the close playoff battles finish running their course. I believe the Yankees will prevail in the end just because they are the standard every franchise tries to reach of the sport with an all star cast looking to repeat.
AL East: New York Yankees
AL Central: Minnesota Twins
AL West: Texas Rangers
AL Wild Card: Tampa Bay Rays
NL East: Atlanta Braves
NL Central: Cincinnati Reds
NL West: San Diego Padres
NL Wild Card: St. Louis Cardinals
World Series: New York Yankees def. Cincinnati Reds 4-2
New York Yankees – The best overall team in baseball again this year. Bearing no new injuries heading into the playoffs, I like the Yankees to take the World Series in 2010.
Minnesota Twins – Lack of star power in their rotation and bull pen hurts the Twins come playoff time.
Texas Rangers – I think the Rangers will get hot as the season comes to a close and carry that out into the playoffs. Led in the rotation by Clif Lee and riding their big bats to a dramatic finish to their season but coming up short in the end.
Tampa Bay Rays – I just do not think that the Rays have what it takes to get it done. Yankees will prevail over them any day in a seven game series.
Atlanta Braves – The Braves dedicated run to Bobby Cox in his last season as manager of the Braves will have a happy but short ending as the Braves will stutter in the playoffs.
Cincinnati Reds – The Reds have been consistent and are led by MVP Candidate Joey Votto. Dusty Baker’s team has shown poise and the will to win all season, which is why I think they will make a run to the World Series. Unfortunately coming up short in the end to the Yankees.
San Diego Padres – Lack of star power gives the Padres an early exit.
St. Louis Cardinals – The “machine” comes up short as the Cardinals run out of gas before the playoffs winning the NL Wild Card.
