2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons: The Baltimore Ravens advanced their record to 6-2 last week with a win over the Miami Dolphins. Joe Flacco had one of his best games this year, passing for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ray Rice was his favorite target, receiving 7 catches for 97 yards. The Raven’s defense stepped up in the second half, not allowing any points for the dolphins. This week, this team will have troubles against a strong pass defense and a very strong offensive attack that can take to the air or push up field on the ground. The Atlanta Falcons advanced to 6-2 with a win over the Buccaneers last week. Matt Ryan and Michael Turner led the team over the Buccaneers defense. The Falcons took an early 14-0 lead, but let up in the second half, allowing the Buccaneers to come back 21-27. The Falcons will have to use their mobility and their full offense in order to pass by the Baltimore Ravens’ tough defense. This game is a toss-up and the flip of the coin says the Ravens will win this game 24-21. ACTUAL RESULT: ATLANTA FALCONS 26, BALTIMORE RAVENS 21
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins: The Tennessee Titans are coming off a much needed bye. After losing Kenny Britt, they picked up Randy Moss, who could potentially be a huge game changer for the Titans. Vince Young and Kerry Collins can both throw the ball, so it doesn’t matter which quarterback starts for this team. As of right now, it appears Vince Young is ready to start on Sunday. Randy Moss will get the ball, and Chris Johnson will be more of a threat because of the backed-up passing game. The Miami Dolphins suffered their first away game this year. Chad Henne had one of his worst games this year, passing for only 231 yards and 3 interceptions. If a Chad Henne has a repeat performance this week, it doesn’t matter what Ronnie Brown can do, the Dolphins won’t have a chance. The Tennessee Titans will win this game, 24-17.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: New York Jets at Cleveland Browns: Mark Sanchez led an amazing comeback last week against the Lions. He threw for 336 yards and a touchdown. LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 55 yards while Santonio Holmes was Sanchez’s main target, catching for 114 yards. The Cleveland Browns stunned the best team in the league last week, with a win over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Colt McCoy looked like a rookie, but didn’t make any critical mistakes, passing for 174 yards on 14 completions with 1 rushing touchdown. Peyton Hillis was the true victor of the game, rushing for an astounding 184 yards and 2 touchdowns. This week, Colt McCoy will face a tough defense and he will have to figure out how to get the ball down the field against this secondary. For the Browns to win, they will have to rely on their running game again this week. The New York Jets win 28-21.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts: The Cincinnati Bengals should have a better record with all their top-tier players, but they just can’t seem to put it all together. Carson Palmer and Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco should be the biggest trio in the league, but they are aging and their threats aren’t as valid as in the past. The Indianapolis Colts couldn’t come through in the clutch last week. Peyton Manning threw an interception to end the game. It doesn’t help this offense that their team is all banged-up and the injuries keep stacking up. The Colts bounce back at home, winning this game, 28-17.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars: The Houston Texans suffered another loss last week. Matt Schaub’s performance was dismal, passing for 266 yards and an interception. Arian Foster kept the team ahead until the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, their offense fell apart and their defense collapsed when they saw the finish line, allowing the San Diego Chargers to take the lead. The Jacksonville Jaguars had a bye last week, following their victory against the Dallas Cowboys. David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew will have to have similar performances if they want to overcome the Houston Texans. The Texans win this game 24-20.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears: Brett Favre lead the Minnesota Vikings to a comeback victory last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Adrian Peterson showed up in a time of need and had a critical run and catch to put the Vikings in the end zone. Percy Harvin has been suffering migraines this week and is on a day-to-day basis for Sunday, luckily it looks like Sidney Rice will be back on the field to face the Bears. The injured Percy Harvin caught 9 passes for 126 yards and Bernard Berrian caught 9 passes for 89 yards. Brad Childress’s job may have been saved for another week by their comeback victory. The Vikings will have to play like they did in the 5 minutes of the game if they want to win this week against the Bears. It looked like the Bears were going to be the first win for the Buffalo Bills, but they pulled off a win in the end. Jay Cutler passed for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Bears to victory. Earl Bennett caught a critical pass that put the Bears on top of the Bills. This week will be a toss-up, but the Chicago Bears should win this game 21-20.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Carolina Panthers showed no sign of life last week against the New Orleans Saints. Matt Moore got hurt and was placed on the IR and Jimmy Clausen stepped in to take his spot. Jimmy Clausen only completed 8 passes for 47 yards and an interception. Jimmy Clausen will be the starting quarterback, but the Panthers have more to worry about. They will be starting their 4th string runningback, Michael Goodman. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a close loss to the Falcons last week. Josh Freeman is turning out to be a great quarterback for the Buccaneers, passing for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. Mike Williams stepped up last week and caught 4 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. This is an easy game for the Buccaneers, 35-10.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills: The Detroit Lions almost beat the Jets last week, but couldn’t keep them out of the end zone at the end of the game. Matthew Stafford showed that he could be a top quarterback as long as he stays healthy, especially when he is facing week defenses such as the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, it looks like Matthew Stafford will be placed on the IR after suffering a 3rd degree seperation of his throwing shoulder and Shaun Hill will be stepping in as quarterback for the rest of the year. The Buffalo Bills were near a win last week against Chicago, but couldn’t pull it together in the end. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 51 passes for 299 yards and a touchdown, while 145 of those yards when to Steve Johnson. The Lions will win this game 24-17.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos: The Kansas City Chiefs lost in overtime to Darren McFadden and the Oakland Raiders last week. Matt Cassel passed for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. If Matt Cassel can have the same productivity this week against the Broncos, he should pull of another victory. The Denver Broncos had a bye last week, and most likely worked on their defense. Kyle Orton will be the key to the Broncos victory this week. The Chiefs will win 24-17.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants: The Dallas Cowboys are in a freefall to the bottom of the NFL. With Tony Romo out, Jon Kitna has taken the reigns and hasn’t been able to connect with his receivers. Their defense is in shambles and Wade Phillips’ job is on the line. The New York Giants are on top of the NFC and have been playing extremely well, dismantling the Seahawks 41-7 last week. Eli Manning and Ahmad Bradshaw are the heart of the offense and will look to dominate the Cowboys weak defense. The Giants win this game 37-14.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals: The Seahawks suffered an embarrassing loss last week against the Giants. If Matt Hasselback comes back next week, they will have a better chance of winning, but with Charlie Whitehurst in, their chances are much lower. The Arizona Cardinals looked as though they were going to win last week, but fell apart in the last 4 minutes of the game, allowing Brett Favre to lead a comeback. Derek Anderson looked like a starter passing for 179 yards and a touchdown. Their defense was their mainstay last week, forcing 2 interceptions. The Cardinals win this game 24-21.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers: Sam Bradford is in charge of this offense, and he is doing a very good job. The team looks as though it is unified and they pose a great threat to other teams. Sam Bradford will have to perform well if he wants to beat the 49ers’ defense. The 49ers are a totally different team from last year and their unity has fallen through the cracks. The Rams will win this game 17-10.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: New England Patriots at Pittsburg Steelers: This is the game of the week. The New England Patriots suffered a disgraceful loss last week against the Cleveland Browns. Their offense wasn’t in sync and their defense couldn’t figure out how to stop the running game. The Pittsburg Steelers have Ben Roethlisberger back and he is just as good as he was before. This game is a toss-up (literally) with the Steelers coming out on top 35-28.
2010 NFL Week 10 Predictions: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins: Michael Vick is back and the Eagles are on fire. LeSean McCoy fits right into this power offense, allowing for Vick to get the ball out to his receivers. DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are always a deep threat for the opponents’ defense. The Washington Redskins are coming off of a much needed bye week. Donovan McNabb threw one of his worst games and was benched because of “injury”. The Eagles easily win this game 35-21.
