It’s time to make my 2010 NFL Week 7 predictions and picks. Yes, it has been a very difficult year for predictions and picks. Upsets have been quite common. So common that now perhaps it’s safe to say that an increase in parity has allowed many NFL teams to catch up while others have certainly slowed back to the pack.
So what’s going to happen during week 7 of the 2010 NFL schedule? Here are my predictions and picks for the upcoming week.
Let’s start with San Francisco at Carolina. This game looks extremely ugly on paper. In fact, the two teams have combined for just 1 total win during the 2010 NFL schedule. The Panthers are the less of the two evils–entering with an 0-5 record. Can Carolina finally notch a win-even if it’s against a team with just one other regular season win? It seems likely that an upset could occur given the situation. If the Panthers have already hit a reverse gear, the 49’ers are a step away from it. I truly believe a break here or there could help Carolina finally win a game. I think San Francisco will have too much Frank Gore and the 49’ers will escape with a 23-16 victory on the road.
My 2010 NFL Week 7 predictions and picks continue with St. Louis at Tampa Bay. Both of these teams have been surprising during the course of the 2010 NFL schedule. The biggest question is can the Rams win outside of St. Louis in a hostile environment. I believe the answer to that question, at least this week, is yes. I project St. Louis to steal a 22-20 win on the road in Tampa.
What’s next on the 2010 NFL Week 7 schedule? Buffalo travels to Baltimore. If there was ever a gimme on the schedule, this would appear to be it. That’s exactly why Baltimore should be on upset alert. The Bills are flat out bad this year and I don’t see any reason for that to change against a very tough Baltimore team. My predictions and picks have the Ravens crushing Buffalo 34-7.
Cleveland also travels to New Orleans during week 7. Can the Browns upset the Saints in New Orleans? Certainly the NFL has been very unpredictable this season. I look for this game to be quite predictable. New Orleans in a romp 38-13.
Pittsburgh travels to Miami in what could be an interesting match up. The Dolphins are fresh off a win at Green Bay. Can they follow it up with a win over Pittsburgh? I believe the Steelers will rise to the occasion in a big road game and pull out a 23-17 win.
Another interesting match up takes place when Philadelphia travels to Tennessee this weekend. The Titans are an interesting bunch. Philadelphia looked strong in a win over Atlanta. Things tend to change a bit when the game is played in Nashville. I think the Titans will stuff Kevin Kolb/Michael Vick and end up with a 23-13 win.
Jacksonville is also at Kansas City during the 2010 NFL Week 7 schedule. The Chiefs just missed a win on the road in Houston and will be looking to rebound. The Jags are very unpredictable this season. Can the Chiefs continue to grow by leaps and bounds? I think Kansas City is a safe bet in this one with a 27-16 victory.
Washington travels to Chicago to play an angry Bears team. Chicago didn’t look to hot in a loss to Seattle. The Redskins were equally unimpressive in a loss to Indianapolis. I look for Chicago to squeak out a 24-21 victory over the Skins during week 7 of the NFL schedule.
Next up is Cincy at Atlanta. The Falcons were shut down in Philly and look to rebound at home. I think they’ll do exactly that. My predictions and picks for this one have Atlanta taking down the Bengals 31-20.
Arizona is also at Seattle in what is becoming an important game for the Seahawks. The Cardinals could play the upset card but I am unsure that will happen. I look for Seattle to manage the clock and the Cards in a 23-14 win.
Next up on the 2010 NFL Week 7 schedule is New England at San Diego. The Chargers are reeling and a visit from the Pats probably won’t help. The Patriots win going away 23-20 in overtime.
Oakland pays a visit to Denver in what could be an upset special of the week–that is, if the Broncos offense could be slowed down. Denver has figured out a way to make Kyle Orton look like an incredible weapon. I look for the Broncos to hold fort at home with a 31-9 romp over the Raiders.
The Sunday night game features Minnesota at Green Bay. Besides the story lines centering around the Brett Favre return, this game does look to be one of the more interesting all week on the 2010 NFL week 7 schedule.
Green Bay will be up for this one. I look for the Packers to roll with a 31-17 win.
The final game on my 2010 NFL week 7 predictions and picks list is the Monday night affair between the New York Giants and Dallas in Texas. The Cowboys desperately need a win and I believe they will absolutely get it this week. I look for Dallas to emerge with a 26-21 win over Eli Manning and company.
That’s it for my 2010 NFL Week 7 predictions and picks. We’ll be back to do it again for the NFL week 8 schedule!
