Let’s face it, gadgets are a passion for men and there is no stopping them from getting the latest and greatest technology. You want to impress your man but aren’t not sure what to get him. Many of the popular and most desired gifts will be covered. This guide is designed to help you impress the man in your life this holiday season.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of the Dr. Dre Beats if you want to grab a pair of headphones these holidays. They come in many different trim levels starting from the Solo trim all the way to the Studio Beats. These stylish pair of headphones provide amazing sound quality, comfort, and also available in the optional Boston Red Sox trim (if he is a Red Sox fan). They range from $199.95 to $349.95.
If you need a pair of in-ear headphones, the Bose IE2 headphones are a great buy. They retail at $99.95 and provide exceptional comfort and sound quality. Rated extremely well on amazon.com and are a must buy if you are on a smaller budget for headphones but still need a high quality product with a brand name.
With so many smart phones available on the market, it is a very difficult choice to make. If he is an Apple fanboy, then the choice is very obvious. Get him the iPhone 4 and he will be very satisfied. With its incredible retina display, facetime video chat, endless supply of apps and games, and the incredibly sleek body, you can’t really go wrong with this awesome phone.
If he is an Android user then the choices are available in plethora. You have the options of screen size, QWERTY or no QWERTY, and whether or not you want a 4G network. The availability of Adobe Flash Player on these phones are major selling points and the ever expanding Android Market is always a plus.
Some of the best touch screen phones include the HTC EVO 4G (Sprint), the Motorola Droid X (Verizon), the Google Nexus One (T-Mobile), and the Samsung Captivate (AT&T). The HTC EVO comes with a front facing camera that allows for video chat, a kick stand, and a 4G network. The Droid X comes with a screen size comparable to the EVO but lacks 4G. Regardless, it is a great phone and should not be forgotten about. The Google Nexus one is always updated by Google and a great phone overall that runs buttery smooth and a great looking phone overall. Samsung’s Captivate is one of their Galaxy S phones and it comes with the famous Super AMOLED screen. The screen is the big selling point for the phone as it displays the colors very vibrantly but you will be bogged down by the AT&T network. My pick among these four phones would be the EVO.
If a QWERTY keyboard is a must, then there are also a great choice of android phones. On Verizon the obvious choice is the Droid 2. Redesigned from last year’s Droid with a greatly improved keyboard and still keeps in tact everything that made the original Droid amazing. On AT&T your options are not so great with the Motorola Backflip being your best option. With Sprint, you have the Samsung Epic 4G. This phone is packed with features such as a lightning fast processor, a front facing camera, and a quick 4G network to boot. On T-Mobile, the G2 is a terrific option with it’s slim profile and 4G network. The phone comes with stock android software and is simply awesome. The keyboard feels great and it fits awesome in the hand. My pick among these four devices would be the Epic 4G due to the 4G network and the front facing camera. The G2 is a very solid choice for anyone who requires a smaller phone.
There really is only one choice if your man needs a do it all player and that is the newest iPod Touch. It is basically and iPhone 4 without the phone. Comes with a front facing camera that can now be used for facetime, as well as a back camera that can be used to take pictures. The amazing retina display is also carried over. Overall the best player out there.
However, if he is a music junkie and needs something to carry all of his music then you can’t go wrong with either the Zune 120 or the iPod Classic. The reason I chose the Zune is because of its superior desktop software and the available subscription service known as the Zune Pass. The iPod Classic comes in a metallic body and a 160 GB hard drive and a 120 GB for the Zune. Both are terrific choices if the primary purpose of the device is to playback music.
That’s the end of the shopping guide and hopefully it will help you make some good choices this season.
