Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears is the only team still undefeated in the NFC. Will their luck continue this week, or will the Giants take them down? Aaron Rodgers and the Packers look like they will have issues if they don’t acquire a runningback that can get the job done. How will this effect the team this week against the Lions? Here are the predictions and picks for week 4 of the 2010 season:
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills- The New York Jets are getting their air game going. Mark Sanchez has passed for 3 touchdowns in both of the last two games. They’ve scored at least 28 points in the last two games and this team looks like they are just getting better. If Mark Sanchez can keep up his production and the running game can remain effective, the Jets have a great chance at winning this division game. The Buffalo Bills are 0-3, but they have given the Dolphins and the Patriots a run for their money. After benching Trent Edwards last week and putting in Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Bills came back to life and gave the Dolphins a scare. We’ll have to see this week if Fitzpatrick and Marshawn Lynch can overcome the Jets’ defense. The New York Jets win this close game 28-24.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns- The Cincinnati Bengals won their last two games, defeating the Panthers last week with their dominant defense. Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens have remained fairly silent so far, but they could explode against the Browns’ secondary. The Cleveland Browns will be starting Seneca Wallace again this week, he could be fairly productive this week after finding a groove last week. Peyton Hillis will be another threat that the Bengals will be looking out for. Bengals win 21-20.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburg Steelers- The Baltimore Ravens are 2-1. Their offense hasn’t been as productive as we would have hoped, but they seem to be improving each week. Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin seem to be building a relation and Boldin is averaging a touchdown a game. The Pittsburg Steelers are surprisingly 3-0 without Ben Roethlisberger. This will be a tough divisional game between these two teams. The Steelers haven’t played a defense like the Ravens and we will have to see how they react to this hard-hitting team. The Baltimore Ravens win this close game 20-17.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Denver Broncos at Tennessee Titans- The Denver Broncos are having no problems moving the ball down-field. Their problem is punching the ball into the end-zone. Kyle Orton will have to figure out some ways to lower the mistakes in the red-zone and get some touchdowns. The Tennessee Titans are 2-1 with Vince Young under center. Also, with Chris Johnson and Nate Washington, the Titans will have to main threats to get the ball down field. Titans win this game 24-14.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers- Even though the Detroit Lions are 0-3, they have been putting up good points against good opponents. Jahvid Best has truly been the anchor of the Lions’ offense. He has the most receiving yards on the team and 4 touchdowns on the ground. His explosiveness will be a challenge for the Packers’ defensive line. The Green Bay Packers were more than penalty prone last week in their loss to the Chicago Bears. The team had 18 penalties for over 150 yards. A team will most likely never win with that many penalties. Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings will really have to pick up the slack again this week if the Packers can’t figure out a way to boost their running game. Green Bay Packers win 35-24.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons- The 49ers are not performing well this year. Alex Smith has only tossed up 2 touchdowns this year and Frank Gore has only rushed for 1. The key to a 49ers victory this week will be if they can get the ball moving down field and into the endzone. The Atlanta Falcons have been fairly consistent this year. Matt Ryan has thrown for 5 touchdowns and Michael Turner and Jason Snelling are effectively moving the ball on the ground. Look forward to the Falcons winning 21-14.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints- The Carolina Panthers have all it takes to win games. They just have to put the pieces together to earn a win. The Panthers will be sticking with Jimmy Clausen as the starter this week, hoping that he will be able to generate more points. The New Orleans Saints are 2-1. Drew Brees is one of the top quarterbacks again this year. He is averaging almost 280 yards and 2 touchdowns per game. Without Reggie Bush, the special teams and rushing game have suffered slightly, but Pierre Thomas should still be able to get it done. Saints win 28-10.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Seattle Seahawks at Saint Louis Rams- The Seattle Seahawks are surprisingly 2-1. Matt Hasselbeck is average 210 yards per game and the productivity on this offense is stellar. Their weakness comes in the defense, where they will have to step it up against the Rams revamped offense. Sam Bradford has proven to be a good pick for the Rams. He’s average 220 yards per game and has 4 touchdowns through the air. With a legitimate throwing threat, Steven Jackson is able to be more productive on the ground and is averaging 4.2 yards per carry. This is a toss-up, but the Rams should win this game 17-14
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars- The Indianapolis Colts have one of the top offenses in the league. Peyton Manning has already eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark and has 9 touchdowns through the air. His receivers have been great targets for him and Austin Collie and Reggie Wayne. The Jacksonville Jaguars are having troubles getting the ball down the field this year. David Garrard has only thrown for 448 yards and 4 touchdowns and it looks like Maurice Jones-Drew is a little slower this year. Peyton Manning and Joseph Addai will provide two attacks that the Jaguars won’t be able to stop. Colts win 35-10.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders- The Houston Texans suffered a lost last week, but will rebound this week. Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson is a connection that is nearly unstoppable. With Arian Foster behind the quarterback, the Houston Texans have an all-around team that will shine on both sides of the ball. The Oakland Raiders are a little unsettled in the quarterback position. This week they will be starting Bruce Gradkowski after he threw up a good game last week. Darren McFadden looks like the running-back we’ve been waiting for. He’s patient and finds the holes and punches through. The Texans win this game 28-20.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles- This is the match-up Eagles fans and Redskins fans have been waiting for. The Redskins acquired Donovan McNabb this summer and he hasn’t brought the productivity they hoped. The combination of a weak offensive strike and the worst defense doesn’t leave the Redskins in a great position to win this game. The Philadelphia Eagles are staying with Michael Vick. He is better than ever and is showing that he is a dominate quarterback in the league. He’s averaging over 200 yards passing and 2 touchdowns per game. He also has 170 yards rushing. The Eagles should win this game with Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy 35-21.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Arizona Cardinals at San Diego Chargers- The Arizona Cardinals are definitely not the team they used to be. Derek Anderson might not be the quarterback the Cardinals are looking for. He’s gotten off to a slow start and hasn’t shown much light in his game. Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower will try to figure out a successful strategy to get passed the Chargers’ defensive lines. The Chargers have gotten off to a painful 1-2 start and look to even it out this week. Philip Rivers has a lot of targets to pass to; he just has to find Malcolm Floyd or his other receivers. The Chargers even out their record with a win at home, 24-17.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: Chicago Bears at New York Giants- The Chicago Bears are the only undefeated team left in the NFC, but that doesn’t mean much. They slipped by the Lions in week 1, barely pulled off a victory in week 2 against the Cowboys, and got lucky against the penalty-prone Packers in week 3. Jay Cutler has been productive this year and has shown that he can be the Bears future quarterback. The New York Giants have been having troubles on both sides of the ball. Eli Manning’s protection is weak, which means Ahmad Bradshaw will have to pick up a lot of the slack and be more effective on the ground. The Chicago Bears will roll on to 4-0 with a 24-21 victory.
2010 NFL Week 4 Predictions: New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins- The New England Patriots will win this game 24-17.
