Lately, there have been complaints that the Noe Valley Community Benefit District is an expensive the city of San Francisco simply cannot afford. However, the benefit district turned in their annual report to the Board of Supervisors this past month with many hopes for the new 2011 fiscal year. 2010 marks year five of the city’s fifteen year commitment to improving the business district of Noe Valley.
The report was received by the Board of Supervisors and assigned to the Government Audit and Oversight Committee according to meeting minutes from October of 2010. Highlights from the 2009-2010 report made by the Noe Valley Association (NVA) include details on every landscaping project they completed. They also include budgets and projects for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
Service Plans for 2011 include sidewalk operations, district identity, and streetscape improvement. Expectations include steam cleaning the sidewalks, daily streets cleaning, graffiti removal within 24 hours, maintaining trees, hiring San Francisco Patrol Special Police, and maintaining decorative features like flowers.
