Wow, this thankful month of November just flew by didn’t it? And what a crazy, busy month it is. 30 days to be thankful – and only 2 more days left to do it. Today, on this 29th day of thanksgiving, I am thankful for the largest social network in the world – Facebook.
I have many reasons to be thankful for Facebook and I’m going to share some of them with you but the main reason goes along with my last (but certainly not least) thank you; so stay tuned tomorrow for that. For now though, let me tell you why I am so darn thankful for Facebook.
8 Reasons I am Thankful for Facebook:
Reconnecting with Old Friends – some of whom I’ve known since I was 3 years old. We have become friends again (online at least) and this is a great and lovely thing! Oh, and this goes for family too. Everyone is so busy these days that its just plain nice to be able to gather in one spot – even at different times – to stay connected!
Knowing Instantly Who’s Birthday it is Each Day – I’ve never been good at keeping track of that but Facebook (happily??) does it for me these days.
Being Nosy and Intrusive – If you’re writing about it on Facebook then I’m knowing about it too. Some information I could probably do without but that works both ways I’m sure!
Playing Bejeweled Blitz – Usually I only get my daily spin online and then play Bejeweled Blitz from my phone; but I do love this game and the sweet competition among friends.
All other Facebook Games – Though I don’t play much anymore, I love Farmville and Mafia Wars and Petville too (though that one is really Maggie’s gig). And there are also 1000’s of other fun games available for your guilty pleasure at Facebook. Hours and hours of fun!
Sharing Pictures – I share, you share, we all share. And so we stay caught up with friends and family through pictures and I love this feature. You can even upload photos from your phone to share and that makes for some interesting pictures for sure.
Instant Message and Email – While Facebook has not replaced Yahoo in this respect I can stay better connected with friends through Facebook chat and email. If you can’t get a hold of me any other way, hit me up on Facebook (and) I’ll be there.
The One Reason I Joined – My mother. I joined Facebook in 2009 to begin the process of searching for my birth mother. In just 3 short months I had found her and a plethora of other fine family folks. It was the only reason I joined but I stayed because of all the other fun reasons listed above.
Thank you Facebook. Thank you for just being you – an incredibly easy, fun and convenient way to stay connected with everyone and their mother…oh, and my mother too.
Please Note: Facebook is the largest social network in the world. And lots of fun too. But you should be careful – as with anything you do online – about what you post and what you do during your time there. Be smart, be safe, and enjoy!
Only one more thank you left in this thankful month of November. You may have already guessed who tomorrow’s thank you is for. But you won’t want to miss the 3 most important reasons why I am thankful for my birth mother. Stay tuned!
