Whether you are planning on losing five pounds for fifty, dieting isn’t easy. However, don’t let it discourage you! There is no magic pill or secret that you’re missing that will let you lose the weight overnight. It’s a matter of making sure you are following a healthy diet and you’re getting some exercise in. While you are dieting, make sure you never follow these tips, or you could end up harming not only your diet, but yourself.
Now, I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase over a million times. Why? Because it’s so true! If you skip breakfast, you will harm your body because you haven’t eaten for hours. When you go to bed, your stomach is empty, and if you try waiting to eat at noon the next day, it will hurt your body! Eating breakfast also boosts your metabolism and gives you energy to start the day.
Don’t ever starve yourself! It will really hurt your body if you do. You could end up fainting, or worse. Your brain is 40% fat, so imagine what would happen if you cut all your fat. If you think you are becoming anorexic, you need to seek a professional who can help you. While it seems like it will help speed things up, you’ll probably end up giving up and overeating to make up for what was lost. It’ll really discourage you.
If you exercise too much, you’ll probably end up getting hurt or wearing yourself out. Try to not work yourself too hard when you are exercising or going for more than a hour a day. Thirty minutes is a good amount of time that can be more manageable when it comes to your schedule.
Setting Unrealistic Goals
Remember, the key to healthy weight loss is not getting discouraged. Don’t set goals you can’t reach, otherwise you’ll just want to quit. Set a really low goal for the first few weeks and see how you’re reaching it. If you’re exceeding it by a ton, raise the standards a little but don’t do something that you can’t expect to obtain realistically.
In order to lose weight and stay healthy, you have to eat right and exercise. Don’t push yourself really hard by exercising a lot but eating horribly, or doing just the opposite– eating really well but never leaving the couch. You need to do both but don’t overdo one or the other!
Constantly Weighing Yourself
Your weight changes all the time. In the morning I weigh about three pounds less than I do in the afternoon, and every day I’m a little different. Also, you’re not going to see immediately weight loss every single day. Give yourself weigh-ins a set day every couple of weeks so that you see progress and don’t discourage yourself.
Never get impatient and let one of these things happen to you! It is possible to lose weight, and do it in a way that won’t harm your body. If you’re really considering losing weight, talk to your doctor or a personal trainer to get more tips that’ll encourage success along the way.
