If you ever experienced a Charlie horse you will know exactly what this Montreal examiner is talking about.
Case history of a Montreal handicapped person and her experience with a Charley horse
Most of you know that this examiner is unable to go out in the wintertime. She is disabled and cannot walk in the winter because hip and back pain. So when she gets a chance to go out of course she really enjoys it.
March 6 was her birthday and she was looking forward to going out. Montreal is still pretty cold in early March but after being cooked up in the house from November to March, she was actually “itching to get out.” This Montreal examiner was counting the days just anticipating a nice birthday supper with her man. In the back of her mind she was wondering if she would be well enough to go because she really does not know from one day to the next if she will wake up and not be able to stand up let alone leave the house. Thank god the pain subsides, as the days get warmer.
Finally the day of her birthday arrived and she was feeling good, she couldn’t wait to get out. she had a wonderful meal with her man, and alas it was time to go. She didn’t want to leave the restaurant. She was enjoying herself so much. The ambiance was great and of course she was enjoying the company.
When it was time to visit the washroom before leaving, she sat down on the toilet but when she got up she could not put her right leg on the floor. The pain that shot up her leg was incredible. She stayed in the restaurant bathroom for about 4 minutes trying to figure out what the heck to do. Finally she dragged herself out of the bathroom to the table and told Matt that he had to get her coat and help her into it because she was in too much pain to do it herself. She told him she wasn’t sure how she was going to get home. She had three buses to take.
