The night was bitter cold.
My zipper wouldn’t zip.
The air went through my winter coat.
I thought I was going to flip.
My gloves were frail and worn.
My hat barely covered my ears.
And my winter boots were soaking wet.
Alas, so was my beard.
I wouldn’t be complaining
Except that my battery was dead.
So I waited for assistance from a tow truck
While frozen plums were dancing in my head.
