Because of changes that AT&T is making in their packages, users can save money by switching to a more fitting plan. To get a general idea of which plan is best for the amount of time you spend on the phone, go to Settings in the iPhone menu.
From there go to General and on to Usage. Scroll down the page to Cellular Network Data.
This page will show the amount of Data sent and Data received, Add these figures together to get the total amount of data used.
At the bottom of the Usage screen, below the Reset Statistics button look for the last data reset time. If the time frame is set, divide the data usage by set time. The number will be the amount of megabytes or gigabytes your phone use per month. If 199 megabytes or less are used each month, this will instantly qualify you for the ‘DataPlus’ plan, which is only $15 a month.
The DataPro plan is a better bargain for anyone who use more than 200 and up to 400 megabytes a month. DataPro cost $25.00 per month for 2 whole gigabytes and $10 more a month per extra gigabyte.
Verizon drastically cut the prices on many of their plans, so AT&T decided to do the same. All of the AT&T unlimited plans have lowered prices. Now, iPhone customers can get unlimited voice and data for $99.99 per month. Texting packages are not included in this price – there is an additional fee of $20.00 single or $30.00 for Family.
If the iPhone is used for Tethering, there are several services that can make calls via an Internet connection. This can help to save minutes and reduce the overall telephone bill. But, AT&T has changed their pricing plans for Internet access using iPhone as the modem. The old plan was $30.00 per month for unlimited data service. There are now two plans: one for $15.00 for 200 MB. One for $25.00 for 2 GB per month.
