While thousands of magazines spend numerous pages dedicated to encouraging women to increase and improve their desirability for men, few magazines offer equivalent advice and suggestions for men. One of the best kept secrets is that women hate men with rough, ashy, scaly feet.
At some point in time, many women have enjoyed the opportunity to snuggle up to a man resting her feet on top of his, only to experience assault by jagged toe nails or smelly foot odor. Women appreciate the efforts of men who take the time to groom themselves.
Not to mention that following simple foot grooming techniques can help men avoid contracting Athlete’s foot. Once a week men should adhere to some form of foot grooming maintenance regimen to keep their feet healthy and smooth.
The following three step routine can help any man maintain optimal foot health for added smoothness during the winter months without breaking their budget.
Feet should be washed daily with special attention devoted to drying between the toes, which is the area more prone to develop foot ailments, such as Athlete’s Foot. At least once a week, men should use a foot soak with bath salt or Epson salt.
Refining the Rough
Following the foot soak, a man should use a pumice stone on his heels and the are underneath the big toe to remove rough skin. The soak softens the skin, and pumice stone acts as a buffer. In addition, trim toenails before they harden, but be sure to avoid leaving toenail clippings on the floor, at least while you have feminine company in your presence.
Dry, Moisturize, and Sock It
After achieving the desired level of smoothness and the removal of dead skin, dry feet with a thick towel. Once feet are thoroughly dry, slather on a heavy duty moisturizer onto on your feet focusing more on targeting your heels and the balls of your feet. If you are on a budget, you can use corn husk mixed with a cheap, travel size lotion.
For a more spa-like treatment, use Nivea for men or medicated lotion, such as Gold Bond. Other great moisturizers for men include: The Body Shop’s Peppermint Cooling foot lotion, Vaseline’s Cocoa Butter lotion, and Nivea for Men Revitalizing Body Lotion.
A man’s foot care communicates a lot about how a man thinks about himself to a woman. Do the ladies a favor, and take special care of your feet.
