Brownstoner recently reported on the unveiling of the new bar at 61 Bergen street, which we now know is called “61 Local,” and identified it as a “Beer Garden” in Cobble hill.
We would actually say this spot falls pretty square in Boerum Hill, but it would appear opinions differ on where the boundary lies.
Either way, 61 Local sounds like a great place, “celebrating locally crafted food and the people who make it.”
A reviewer on Yelp reports that there has been some sort of “sneak peak,” and other readers have noticed the space has “been open irregularly” in recent weeks, but we have no further information on these events, any future events, or when the thing will actually be open.
Initial word is that 61 local has “a great selection of Brooklyn Beer and food” and the “garden” part of “beer garden” has got our attention. So we wait.
Stay tuned for further developments.
