I love many Banquet frozen food products. When I spotted Banquet Southwestern Style Rice & Beans With Chicken Meal in the frozen dinners section of my local grocery store, my attention was captured. I love Mexican style food. I decided to purchase this affordable frozen meal, try it and write an unbiased product review all about my personal experience. Here is what I discovered!
I purchased Banquet Southwestern Style Rice & Beans With Chicken Meal for only one dollar. That is a great frozen dinner deal, in my opinion. This meal has rice, chicken, tomato paste, diced red and green peppers, black beans, corn, spices and many other ingredients in it. That all sounded good to me. Since this dinner is low cal, low in saturated fat, low in cholesterol and has vitamins and minerals in it, I was very intrigued. I could not wait to taste it.
The preparation of Banquet Southwestern Style Rice & Beans With Chicken Meal is easy and fast! It is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. I only had to cut a slit in the film cover, cook on high in my microwave for two minutes, stir, re cover and continue cooking on high for two more minutes. I then let this meal sit for one minute, stirred and served. It smelled great and looked pretty good.
I discovered that Banquet Southwestern Style Rice & Beans With Chicken Meal had lots of southwestern style rice in it and it was good! A few black beans, peppers and corn were scattered around in there. This dish is very tasty and I liked it. I did wish for more chicken in this meal, I have to admit. I only had a few pieces in my meal. Well, for a one dollar dinner, I really couldn’t complain, much, could I? The flavorfulness of this meal did impress me. I rate it three and one half stars out of five stars. More beans, peppers and chicken would have made it perfect, I have to say.
Banquet Southwestern Style Rice & Beans With Chicken Meal has only 190 calories in it, goodness. That fact did impress me. Only 40 of those calories are from fat. This dinner has 4.5 grams of total fat, only 1 gram of saturated fat, 5 mg’s of cholesterol, 540 mg’s of sodium, 270 mg’s of potassium, 31 grams of total carbs, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 3 grams of sugars and 6 grams of protein. This meal does contain soy. I like to serve this dinner with a side dish like refried beans or a taco salad. It really needs a bit more added to it to be filling.
