The Stouffer’s Lean Cuisine frozen dinners line gives me so many great choices. Recently, I came across Lean Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Fish Meal in the frozen meals section of my local grocery store. I decided to purchase it, try it out and write an unbiased product review all about my experience. Here is what I discovered!
Lean Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Fish Meal costs around two dollars and fifty cents. The price does vary depending on what store you purchase this frozen meal at. This dinner is low cal, low in saturated fat and preservative free. That all sounded great to me. This meal has a tortilla crusted Alaskan pollock fish fillet, long grain rice, corn, red peppers, onion, chile peppers, cheddar cheese, skim milk, sour cream sauce and many other interesting ingredients in it. I could not wait to taste it!
Lean Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Fish Meal is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. I only had to remove the film cover from the fish portion, cook on high for three to four minutes and let stand in my microwave for two more minutes to complete the cooking process. This dinner looked wonderful and smelled great!
When I tasted Lean Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Fish Meal, I loved it. The tortilla crusted fish was excellent. Very fresh tasting and delightful. I had never had a seafood dish quite like this. That is pretty special for healthy and low cal frozen dinner. The rice was fantastic and I really liked the corn mixed in. It was yummy. Now, for what I did not like. There are far too many peppers in this dish. It is quite spicy and you need to be aware of that. I had to pick many of the peppers out just to eat this dinner. Way too many for my liking. This meal is very creative, easy to fix and tasty. Still, it needs the peppers to be toned down a bit. Maybe add black beans. I would like that.
I rate Lean Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Fish Meal four stars out of five stars. It has only 290 calories and that is wonderful. Only 80 of those calories are from fat. It has 9 grams of total fat, 2 grams of saturated fat, 3 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 3 grams of monounsaturated fat, 35 mg’s of cholesterol, 540 mg’s of sodium, 570 mg’s of potassium, 40 mg’s of total carbs, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 7 grams of sugars and 13 grams of protein.
