Recently, while grocery shopping in my local Publix supermarket, I came across a large package of Publix Thin Sliced Smoked Honey Turkey Breast, in the refrigerated lunch meats section. I decided to purchase it, try it out and write an unbiased product review all about my personal experience with it. This is what I discovered!
I wanted a thinly sliced turkey sandwich meat that was different. Not just the same plain turkey or smoked turkey meat. Publix Thin Sliced Smoked Honey Turkey Breast seemed to be perfect for the occasion and I realized that I had never had honey smoked turkey before. This product sounded very interesting. It is also pretty affordable. I got a large one pound pack for around and over three dollars. Each package has eight servings in it and I thought that this was a nice bargain. I love many Publix brand name products and I usually find them to be high in quality and low in price.
Publix Thin Sliced Smoked Honey Turkey Breast is ninety-eight percent fat free, I discovered. It is also very low in calories. When I opened the package, I immediately liked the aroma of this turkey. It is very thinly sliced and it is perfect for deli type sandwiches. I tasted few pieces of this honey smoked turkey meat and I did like it very much. It is quite tasty and the honey gives this turkey meat an intriguing quality. A different meat for me to serve during the holidays and for lunch, anytime. One thing that I did notice was this meat is a bit salty. Other than that, it was very good.
I tied this meat on deli sandwiches, along with Swiss Cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and ranch dressing. The sandwiches were delicious! I also tried these smoked honey turkey slices on grilled Swiss cheese and tomato sandwiches. They were very flavorful. I then used the remaining turkey slices diced up in a turkey cobb type of salad with boiled eggs, cheese and many other ingredients. This product was tasty and made the salad wonderful. Still, using this meat in the salad, it’s saltiness does come through more than in the sandwiches, in my opinion.
Overall, I rate Publix Thin Sliced Smoked Honey Turkey Breast four stars out of five stars. This product did save me money and I will be buying it again. I discovered that it is really good on a sandwich or bun with honey mustard and mayo. I found lots of ways to use this meat and loved it. One serving has 70 calories in it. Just 15 of those calories come from fat. One serving has 1.5 grams of total fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, yay, 15 mg’s of cholesterol, 500 mg’s of sodium, 5 grams of total carbs, 0 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugars and 8 grams of protein. These deli slices also have a tiny amount of iron in them.
I enjoyed trying Publix Thin Sliced Smoked Honey Turkey Breast and writing a product review all about them. They are affordable, low in fat and pretty low cal, as well. A bit too much sodium but, overall, they have a nice flavor that is very yummy. For more information, you can visit the Publix.com website.
