When I was little, my maternal grandmother had hearing loss in both her ears. She wore two hearing aids that would “scream” (make a high-frequency sound) when she turned them on. The most amusing memory I have is her turning off her hearing aids when she was around people she didn’t like. It made ignoring them so much easier!
Keeping your hearing healthy for as long as possible is very important. Without our hearing, we would not hear the train horn or the phone ring. Dr. David Tang will be at the Mountain View Senior Center on October 28 at 2pm to discuss how your ear hears and what can go wrong. The event is free and you can contact the Center for more information at (650) 903-6330. The Center is located at 266 Escuela Avenue.
