It’s a time of year to thank our friends
For acceptance and joy and making amends
To thank our kin for their loving touch
At a time that’s supposed to mean so much
Yet most of us spend the whole day
Worried, cooking, sweating away
The turkey, the potatoes, the stuffing, the pie
So busy, so bothered, and wondering why?
Yet though it may seem corny to do so each year
Let’s please take the time to remember what’s dear
And thank all those people who hold us in their heart
Who support us and love us and don’t tear us apart
So, cheers to our family and friends, and especially our mother
For making Thanksgiving a day like no other.
