Perhaps the greatest of all things would be to get back to work after a long vacation. My passion is journalism, my heart belongs to words. Writing has become my life and that is the only thing that I have noticed will not let me down.
I remember when I first made the “official” decision to be a writer. It was something my step dad and wonderful step mother were not OK with. Considering how they were raised, chasing dreams was not really something they were ok with. Practicality was their thing and making money is more the priority. Maybe that is why I have a respect for this new found home that I am now in.
I live beneath the great Space Needle, literally directly downtown in Seattle, WA. And though the homeless rate is high I would not ever say that this great huge, crime filled city is not home.
Laughter can fill the air then suddenly anger will stare you down and make you feel like you have done the worst thing you could imagine. The negativity can tear you down and break you apart. But, then a musician will play his song for you on the corner somewhere suddenly filling the atmosphere with inspiration. Suddenly, the negativity disappears and you are on cloud nine finding new hopes for your own dreams.
This city is known as the emerald city for it’s money hunger. Granted, I do not make much money at all, but I am happy with what I do. This is my life. I am a writer and It feels great to be able to get back to work with my new net book in hand!
