There I was, dragging my newly found tree back to my cabin. The weather outside was terribly cold. Everything was frozen over, and the temperature was way below freezing. I dragged my tree over the last hill and down toward my little gingerbread cabin. I trudged through the last bit of snow, and set it upright in the living room. I stood their admiring the nice tree I’d found, and as I did I heard a loud howling noise from outside. Then the entire cabin shook. I fell on my back, but jumped right back up trying to grab hold of something.
Another howl sounded, cabin shook again. I heard screams from outside, and so I ran out the front door. I found my neighbor and his gingerbread family running straight toward me. They were yelling, “Run, Run! Get away!” I tried to ask them what happened, but all I could get from them was something about their house being destroyed. So being the curious and brave ginger man that I am, I decided to investigate.
I started jogging toward my neighbor’s house, but when I got closer I realized that there was no house. I approached the ruins of the house that used to be there, but as I did I tripped and fell into a giant hole. I stood back up, and looked around. It was a random spot for a hole. I climbed out, and suddenly I noticed that there were over a dozen giant holes. I studied the holes a little closer and noticed that they were all shaped like a giant foot. Hearing a twig crack I glanced over my shoulder. And as I turned forward again, I saw a huge wall of fur right in front of me.
Before I could even register what it was, a humongous hand swept down and smacked me in the side. I went flying sideways and crashed into a tree. The only thoughts going through my head were for the safety of the rest of the gingerbread village. I looked over and saw a huge beast towering over me. I grabbed a gumdrop button and threw it at his foot. It stuck to the bottom of his foot, and when he stepped forward it stuck to the ground. The snow creature tripped over himself and came crashing forward toward me. I jumped out of the way and onto the creatures back. I stuck another gumdrop on his back, so when he reached back to grab me his hand got stuck. The snow creature howled and lay there on the ground. I walked over in front of him and looked him in the eyes. I knew then why he was so angry.
The snow creature wanted someone to spend Christmas with. I told the snow creature to follow me back to my house, because I had something for him. I helped the snow creature un-stick himself, and we walked back to my cabin. I ran inside and brought out a wrapped gift for him. The snow creature smiled at me as he opened his gift. He purred happily as he lifted a teddy bear out of the gift box. I called the rest of the town over to meet my friend, and we all had a jolly Christmas.
All thanks to me, our town was safe, the snow creature helped rebuild my neighbor’s house, and we all could sleep soundly knowing we had a giant snow creature protecting our town. Once again I saved the day, and that just shows you how considerate and self giving I am.
