This is an advance users guide. In this guide, I am going to show users how to get more advance with the creating of their home page. If you want to create just a basic home page in TikiWiki, please see my guide for beginners on creating home pages in TikiWiki. In this tutorial, I will show users how to insert images, banners, and other graphics into their home page, how to do full screen editing, and how to insert emoticons into your home page. You can begin with logging into your admin section of TikiWiki and opening your home page.
Inserting Images into Your Home Page in TikiWiki
Let’s start with inserting images into your home page. Go ahead and place your mouse in the location that you want to add the image too. Then click the image icon in the toolbar. When the box opens, you will need to enter the file path for the image that you want to use. You can also go through the other fields and change the settings to what you want. When you are ready to insert the image, click the Insert button at the bottom of the box. You will then see the image appear in your home page.
Inserting Banners into Your Home Page in TikiWiki
If you want to insert banners, you basically follow the steps above. You will need to create the banner or get it from somewhere. Then click the image tool and type the file path. You can link the banner in this box if you want. Or you can link it using the link option in the toolbar. When you are ready to insert the banner into your home page, click Insert at the bottom of your box.
How to Insert Emoticons in TikiWiki
If you want to use your emoticons in your home page follow these steps. Place your mouse where you want to insert one. Then click the emoticon icon in the toolbar. When the box opens, select the one you want to use. You will see the code for the emoticons and you can see the emoticon by clicking the preview button.
Working in Full Screen
If you would prefer to work in a larger area, you can full screen the home page editor. On the right side of your toolbar, you will see the little window icon. Clicking that icon will full screen the editor. To exit out of full screen, you can click the same icon.
