Shortly after noon on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, UFO researcher, Robert Hastings claimed, “I believe, these gentlemen believe, that this planet is being visited by beings from another world, who, for whatever reason, have taken an interest in the nuclear arms race, which began at the end of World War Two.”
The gentlemen that Mr. Hastings references are just over a half dozen retired military personnel, all with the initials USAF in their title. Each have gone on the record during the recent press conference at the National Press Club. A list of the airmen can be found at this UFO Digest link.
Not surprisingly, the retired military personnel claim that they were given direct orders to not speak of the various incidents that they witnessed to. Former USAF Captain, Bob Salas, spoke about an incident in which he dismissed initial accounts from a male staff member, on a particular spring night, until, “he called back about 5 minutes later; this time he was screaming into the phone, and saying, they’re looking at an object, a red glowing object, hovering just above our front gate.”
Robert Hastings maintains that the possible, or as he might say it, the likelihood of alien visits to this planet is not and cannot be a matter of governmental secrecy, especially with stakes as high as nuclear proliferation and the threat that poses to global society. “I am not condemning any government agency for its policy of secrecy regarding UFO’s, but I believe that the American public should be given the facts,” states Hastings, on his own website.
Hastings has said he has spoken to over 120 former U.S. military personnel with similar stories regarding the presence of UFO’s near or around nuclear weapon facilities. “My opinion, their opinion, is that whoever are aboard these craft are sending a signal to both Washington and Moscow, among others, that we are playing with fire. That the possession and threatened use of nuclear weapons, potentially threatens the human race and the integrity of the planetary environment.”
