Over the years there have been many celebrity scandals involving nude pictures and nude videos. The scandals are often started by the celebrity when they take these types of pictures for their own private use and then they fall into the wrong hands. This week, a National Football League player is in the news after alleged full-frontal pictures surface.
According to Bleacher Report, clips in which Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre allegedly tried to seduce football reporter Jenn Sterger have surfaced online. These various messages and photographs have been gaining instant notoriety for the full-frontal nudity and sexually-explicit material. The pictures are classified as not safe for work since they are pictures involving the male genitalia. Favre’s alleged relationship with Sterger has been in the news for a while now, with Favre either denying or choosing not to comment on the situation. Sterger was a reporter for the New York Jets at the time Favre was playing for them.
Vanessa Hudgens’ racy pics also wound up on the Internet which caused a tirade from the actress. According to TMZ, Hudgens sued the website for posting the nude pictures which were taken in the privacy of her own home with her cell phone. It was unclear just how the pictures got on the website in the first place but she sued claiming copyright infringement. Hudgens was not really hurt by the incident because she is still a popular actress for Disney and it actually helped her career. She defends her right to privacy and chooses to not talk much about her picture scandal.
According to Leader Post, Janet Jackson’s 2004 “wardrobe malfunction” during the Super Bowl was also filled with controversy. Jackson was performing with Justin Timberlake when her top came undone and her breast was exposed to everyone. The Jackson “malfunction” was huge because the National Football League never used tape-delay on the halftime performances, so children and everyone watching the game saw her exposed breast. This incident was also big because people thought she did this for publicity and did not think it was a real accident. She apologized after the show along with Timberlake and they both seemed genuine in their apology to the audience and to the National Football League. They both suffered no long-lasting impact from the fallout of the “wardrobe malfunction” and are both highly-regarded in the music industry.
Vanessa Williams’ girl-on-girl photos cost her the Miss America crown back in the 1980’s. According to Right Celebrity, she was the first African-American Miss America in 1984, which led to her girl-on-girl photos taken in 1982 to become famous. She received a tip that they were being shopped around but did not think someone would actually buy them, but she was wrong and in September 1984 they were released. The pageant officials forced her to resign as the Miss America winner later that year after the uproar that the pictures had caused. The fallout for that time was huge and Williams was seen in a negative light for a long time and it also caused controversy in the pageant world as well. Since then however, Williams has regained her professional career and is seen today as one of the leading women of fashion and modeling.
If Favre is indeed involved in this scandal, I do not think it will do anything to tarnish his reputation or career. The legacy of Favre has already been hit a little the past few years with his constant retirement shenanigans and diva behavior. I think that Favre is a great quarterback and no matter what he really does, people will still love him and adore his love of the game. No one can judge what happens behind closed doors and frankly I do not think it is our business what he chooses to do when off of the football field.
