On “House” Season 7 Episode 6, Amber Tamblyn made her debut as the newest member of the team working for House. Lisa Cuddy has been telling him for some time to add a girl to the team since Cameron and 13 have left for awhile. She plays a girl named Martha Masters. She is a genius who is still going through medical school. Dr. House gives her a hard time just like he would any other person that is new to his team.
Dr. Taub has a problem with this new doctor from the start. No one can figure out why but they start giving him a hard time. They guess that it is because she is smarter than him or even younger than him. Finally he admits that he did an interview with her a long time ago. He says they talked for an entire hour and she does not even seem to remember who he is at all. At the end of the episode, she mentions to him that she knows who he was but didn’t want to speak up at first. You can tell this makes him very happy.
Tamblyn’s character has very little understanding for lying to patients. She is not okay with the fact that they break into the patient’s homes even if it is to find out what might be killing them. You can tell she is really bothered by this when she refuses to enter the home with them. She threatens to tell the patient, but he figures it out on his own and really doesn’t care. She is also unsure about giving patients only one option. She thinks they should know every single option available even if it will make them choose the wrong one.
House ends up firing and rehiring her several times during this episode. He finally ends up saying he wants her to stay on the team with him.
Amber Tamblyn is scheduled to be on this show for several episodes. She was a wonderful addition to the show. She is a great actress who plays a girl who is a bit unsure of herself and the way she interacts with other people. I think working on the team with House we will see this character grow and become a better version of herself. I think she is a great addition to the show and I hope they decide to keep her on for awhile.
