The America’s Got Talent winner for 2010 is Michael Grimm. Grimm, who sang “Me and Bobby McGee”, was crowned the 2010 America’s Got Talent Winner on the season finale on Wednesday night.
Grimm beat out Prince Poppycock, Jackie Evancho and Fighting Gravity for the 2010 title. The final four competition appeared to be quite close entering the final night. The singer from Mississippi took home the $1 million dollar grand prize and will now have the opportunity to sing in Las Vegas. Viewers who missed the America’s Got Talent season finale might be a little surprised at the outcome with Michael Grimm emerging as the winner.
There seemed to be some offbeat sentiment that Prince Poppycock, the guy who dressed a bit funky, should be the winner of the overall competition. That didn’t happen. In fact, Prince Poppycock was the first of the final four to depart. Jackie Evancho, a 10 year old phenom in the world of opera, was also a fan favorite and looked to have the potential to be the winner of America’s Got Talent. It was not to be. The Hancock County, Mississippi soul singer stole the title with his gritty voice and deep stories of personal tragedy related to Hurricane Katrina.
Fans who missed the show will want to know who won America’s Got Talent last night. Some may be surprised when they wake up in the morning and read Grimm was crowned the 2010 winner.
