A month or so ago, I bought Clinique’s 3-step system, and I thought I’d share an overview with you. I will also be writing more detailed reviews, so check my profile for them.
Cleansing: The first step of the system is cleansing. Please keep in mind that this step is done after removing your makeup. This will cleanse the day’s oil off your face. Clinique claims that this step will cleanse your skin, while being non-drying and protecting essential oils, preparing your skin for the second step. This step is available in both liquid and bar form, “Liquid Facial Soap” and “Facial Soap.” The liquid form is $15, while the bar form is $11.
Exfoliation: The idea behind this step is to remove oils and dead skin cells from your skin. Clinique claims that it will remove flakes of dead skin, and even remove shine, and leave your skin looking younger and cleaner with less wrinkles. This step is called the “Clarifying Lotion,” and is available for skin types 1-4, as well as an mild version for those who have very sensitive skin. It costs $11.50-$20, depending on the size of the bottle.
Moisturizing: After cleansing your skin, you leave it fresh and ready for moisturizing. This step rehydrates your skin, and is designed to lock in moisture levels. It is available in two types: “Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel” and “Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.” The gel is used for skin types 3-4 and the lotion is for skin types 1-2. The gel is supposed to have no oil to help out oilier skin. The price varies based on the packaging and the amount of the product. It varies from $12.50-$24.
So there are the overviews of each product of the 3-Step system, and what they are used for.
