Confirming an earlier story, Anne Hathaway and James Franco have officially been named as the hosts of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.
The “Love and Other Drugs” babe and the “Pineapple Express” stud will join forces when the Oscars kick off on February 27th, 2011.
The Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences took to the official Twitter page to share the good news earlier today.
This will be Anne and James’ first time filling the hosting duties. Last year, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin did the honors.
Both stars are nominated for an Oscar this year, with Hathaway up for Best Actress for “Love and Other Drugs” and Franco up for Best Actor for his performance in “127 Hours.”
As one of the most talented actresses in Tinseltown, Anne Hathaway recently opened up about the intimate scenes in her latest film, “Love and Other Drugs.”
Sitting aside co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, the “Devil Wears Prada” babe told ET, “If you want to be an actor and you want to make films you must accept that at some point you might be asked to become naked.”
“It’s not that stressful and the way we handled it on this film, we talked about it. We approached it intellectually.”
Adding his two cents about the intimate scenes, the “Brokeback Mountain” stud revealed, “It’s the beginning of her being at the top of her game, and her being a representative of great acting,” he gushed. “Even in the love scenes, … she doesn’t shy away from anything.”
