As many of you know, I have been (finally) diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. What you do not know is that I have been experiencing an extended flare-up of the Fibro. I can play silly Facebook games all day if they only require me to click my mouse. I can post one-liners and Tweet a few times a day. What I cannot do right now is type for extended periods of time.
This is a problem. You see, my writing style has always been stream-of-consciousness. Once I get that first sentence down, I’m hell bent until I’m finished with the article. Heaven help anybody who interrupts that process because it will all be lost and I have to start over. Having my hands cramp up after the first paragraph is making me non-productive.
Then there is the infamous Fibro Fog. I have always had this, but now it has a name. And right now this is also very bad. It is pretty much what it sounds like: A brain fog. I cannot hold a thought for long, which also makes writing an entire article damned near impossible.
So. What to do? I need to give up my position as Travel Guru here on AC. There have been days where I was lucid and pain free enough to write something, but what my brain wanted to write was not travel related, and that guilted me out of doing the writing. Can’t be having that. Sorry.
I also cannot focus on long article to read them. I have been reading your shorter articles, but commenting is a problem for the same reasons as the writing. I hope you can understand.
The bottom line is I have not left or abandoned you. I am merely in the background at the moment. I shall return… I just need to get the right medications stabilized.
