No wonder some Royal Oak residents complained about the noise. The estimates released on Saturday by the producer of the Arts, Beat, and Eats Festival indicate that approximately 423,000 people came to Royal Oak this past Labor Day weekend.
That surpasses last year’s outing of the festival in Pontiac by almost 200,000 people–which makes for a very impressive debut in Royal Oak. It also looks to have netted the city around $39 million, and the organizers say that’s a profit of around 10% for them too. Which means we better be prepared for an even bigger event next year, once word gets around about this year’s festival. Better figure out what to do about the noise, then, and fast!
