Attitude is a company in Chatsworth, California, and this bottle of Attitude Melon Drop Hand & Body Nutrient Lotion was purchased from a kiosk vendor in a local mall. If you have dry and thirsty skin like I do, you might also be drawn to the marketing claims that this lotion is enriched with botanical ingredients, contains essential oils, has dead sea salt, and is fortified with vitamins and minerals.
Attitude Melon Drop Hand & Body Nutrient Lotion comes in a tall, plastic eight ounce container, which looks very upscale and elegant. The bottle itself has a frosted look about it, but you can clearly see the light green contents of the lotion through the plastic. The brand name “Attitude” is applied in gold letters, looking very classy.
The back of the bottle reads “A luxurious nutrient lotion rich in botanicals, vitamins, extracts and essential oils. Helps relieve dry skin as it softens, conditions and balances to perfection”. Those are some pretty amazing claims, how would it perform for me?
The lotion is thick and I had to coax it to get it out of the flip top lid. At once I could smell the strong scent of melon, which reminds me of Honey Dew. Although it does tend to absorb nicely, it left my hands with a greasier feel than I am comfortable with. I generally like to use lotions and creams that absorb but leave my hands feeling soft and dry, I don’t like the feeling that I have to wipe them off on a tissue before I can go about my daily business. And that is the feeling that I get when I use Attitude Melon Drop Hand & Body Nutrient Lotion – it leaves my hands feeling greasy. And when that greasy feeling subsides, then my hands feel slick and strange, not a good feeling.
Looking at the ingredients, I do find that there are several that are very healing, such as aloe vera, vitamin E oil, jojoba oil, Dead Sea Salt, and “minerals and vitamins”, but Attitude fails to say what those minerals and vitamins are, and which source they come from. I do not know what ingredients they are referring to when they say this product contains essential oils, unless they are meaning the vitamin E oil or the jojoba oil.
Attitude Melon Drop Hand & Body Nutrient Lotion retails for $14.99, which is (in my opinion) over priced for what this hand and body lotion does. I do not find it as moisturizing as I had hoped, neither do I find it as softening as other body lotions. The scent is nice if you like the natural scent of melon, but it seems more like a summer time scent than one I would want to use during the winter months.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about Attitude Melon Drop Hand & Body Nutrient Lotion. I like the ingredients, but I feel it is more money than I would want to spend on a regular basis, since I have cheaper hand lotions that work better for my skin, and are not greasy.
