The Early Show on CBS recently interviewed legendary author Daniel Steel discussing her latest book and life, in general. Ms. Steel just published her 113th novel (due out on Sept 28, 2010), entitled: “Legacy.”
In this novel, Ms. Steel combines two stories in one. One story is about a Sioux Indian woman who is on a journal into the eightieth century. The other story is about a modern day writer as she tries to struggle with everyday life and then becomes enthralled with the past of her ancestors, especially of one Sioux Indian lady and how she became a member of her family.
In the interview Ms. Steel gave on the Early Show, she explained how she became intrigued by the Sioux Indians and this is how the small grain of her imagination took off that became her new novel. She also explained how she does not like being called a romance novel. She prefers to just be called a writer. She believes her books are not in definition pure romances. She believes her books are actually stories based on situations, situations of life, jobs, loss, wars, illnesses, bad things, good things and the human condition. Not just on love. More on hope in general.
