Thomas A. Crumm is a third-generation autoworker who rose through the ranks to become Roger Smith’s development manager. Today, he’s a published author and will be signing copies of his new book, “What is Good for General Motors? – Solving America’s Industrial Conundrum” in Birmingham on November 8. The signing and discussion will be held at Baldwin Public Library, which is located at 300 West Merrill Street; it begins at 7pm. Copies of the book, which delves into the reasons for the auto industry’s collapse and maps out ideas to reinvigorate it, will be available for purchase. Anyone with questions about the event may call Book Beat at (248) 968-1190 for more information.
