Most people don’t associate the city of Birmingham with crime, but a recent auto larceny proves that it can happen anywhere. On the night of September 30-October 1, a thief – or thieves – broke into a 2009 Chevrolet that was parked in the 1400 block of Yorkshire near the heart of the city. Several items, including an IBM laptop and multiple credit cards, were taken from the vehicle.
According to Birmingham police, one of the stolen credit cards was used at a Meijer store in Royal Oak; another was used at a Mobil gas station in Bloomfield Hills. A transaction at an undisclosed store in Pontiac happened, too. Anyone who has information about the larceny is asked to contact Birmingham police at (248) 530-1889.
