Happy Autumn! I had the pleasure of an outdoor walk on this first day of fall and the beauty of it inspired me to write this Autumn Welcome Poem. I thought about calling it the Fond Thoughts of Fall poem but ended up sticking with the first as the main title and was happy to remember that Associated Content lets us add a subtitle so in the end I got to use both. Hope you enjoy experiencing the beauty of autumn with me through my poetry!
Autumn Welcome Poem
“Happy autumn!” I thought to myself as I stepped outside
Into this beautiful first day of fall.
It was sunny and hot and at first glance
It didn’t seem like autumn at all.
But as I looked around the signs were there to be read
Changing leaves of harvest gold,
Blazing orange and ripe red
Whispering in the breeze.
A chipmunk scurried by with its
Chubby cheeks bulging with bounty
Squirrels doing the same
All over the county.
Blue hydrangea blooms
Changed to an autumnal bronze
Hung from doors decorated for fall.
Japanese maple trees
Showcase their crimson seeds
Time rolls on
Responding to nature’s needs.
Yellow chrysanthemum buds
Just starting to show their fall color
Bright red cardinal studs
Show off for their mates.
The season of Thanksgiving
Has begun in my mind
Time for blessing counting
And focusing on all the good I can find.
The beauty of the season
Is a wonderfully special kind of art
I hope this fall poem
Will warm your heart.
Happy first day of fall everyone! I hope you enjoyed my autumn poem and wish you the best of the season.
