The grief of the Travolta family was stunning and shared across the world in January, 2009, as they lost their 16-year-old son, Jett, following a seizure while on a Bahamas vacation. While still submerged in grief, shadows of mishandling and corruption of confidential information hung over the event, ultimately leading to the revelation of a $25 million extortion plot involving case evidence that ended in a mistrial for the accused. John Travolta, 56, and wife Kelly Preston, 48, both beamed with joy as they made their pregnancy announcement to the world in May, and Mrs. Travolta further gushed during her September appearance at the Toronto Film Festival to promote her film, “Casino Jack” that her pregnancy had been “wonderful”, with no difficulties or even a hint of morning sickness.
For the past few months, the happy couple have shared that their son would be called Benjamin, and as promised, baby boy Benjamin was welcomed Tuesday at a Florida hospital, weighing in at just over eight pounds, and just in time to help his family celebrate Thanksgiving blessings. “John, Kelly, and daughter Ella Bleu are ecstatic and very happy about the newest member of the family”, reported a Travolta family representative, “Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully”.
Baby Benjamin’s nursery is ready and waiting, too. “I’ve been cleaning everything in the house,” beamed Kelly, “Ella’s been helping, too. She’s looking forward to being a big sister.” Kelly’s best friend, Kirstie Alley, lent a hand, too. “She’s really amazing. She’s genius as a designer. She’s brilliant.” Preston praised.
Travolta was in the spotlight in January, supporting his comedy adventure, “From Paris with Love”, and recently flew a family in his own private jet as part of a Quantas Airlines campaign. Preston starred in “The Last Song” with Miley Cyrus in April.
Blessings are sure to be magnified at the Travolta family table this Thanksgiving!
