I’s been a summer of fun in the sun, mixed with plenty of tears and catfights. But now Bachelor Pad, ABC’s most unromantic dating show, must come to an end. But it wasn’t without a twist ending that threatened to change the outcome of the show. So who won on the finale of ABC’s Bachelor Pad?
DANCE CONTEST FINAL CHALLENGE
Just in time for next week’s Dancing With the Stars Season 11 premiere, the final three couples– Jesse Kovacs and Elizabeth, Kiptyn and Tenley, and Dave Good and Natalie-compete in a dance contest. DWTS choreographers Chelsie Hightower, Louis Van Amstel and Edyta Sliwinska are on hand to train the contestants. Tenley needs little help, as she’s worked as a dancer for Disney in the past (she played Ariel- I knew she was a Disney princess!).
AT the rehearsals, the green eyed monster comes out when Elizabeth doesn’t appreciate the way the slinky Edyta manhandles her man. Meanwhile, the Bachelor Pad cameraman has his way with Edyta- the gratuitous shots are ridiculous.
Louis Van Amstel bluntly asks Dave and Natalie point blank if they have sex in the house, to which Dave coyly replies, “No, never.” Louis tells them to start acting like it if they want their dance to be any good.
The judges for the dance contest are Bachelor alum Jake Pavelka, Trista Sutter and Melissa Rycroft.
Kiptyn and Tenley perform a flawless foxtrot- until they fall in giggly embarrassment at the end. No matter. The rest of the dance more than made up for it. Suddenly, Jake Pavelka is a dance pro, talking about their “really nice transition.” They score a 26.
Next up is the barely watchable Elizabeth and Kovacs. They appear to be half asleep as they attempt to rumba. Absolutely no rhythm or chemistry whatsoever. But the judges all fakely tell them they did a great job. Liars, liars pants on fire! They score a 24.
Dave and Natalie show off plenty of chemistry with their cha cha, until they do some weird patty-cake thing. Still, the judges love them, with Trista gushing, “Hello, Sexiness!” Carrie Ann Inaba better watch out for her job! Dave and Nat score a 25. So close!
Meanwhile, Tom Bergeron should be quaking in his boots as Chris Harrison emcees this whole thing. He announces that Kiptyn and Tenley are the winners of the dance contest, and they get to choose one of the other couples to go to the final four with them.
At the rose ceremony, it’s a somber mood. No wonder they’re all dressed like they are going to a funeral. KIptyn and Tenley decide to bring Dave and Natalie to the finals with them.
Elizabeth is crushed, but says that love is more important than money. She still has Kovacs, after all.
It’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
Next up, the final four reunite in front of all of their former Bachelor Pad housemates and a live studio audience to determine the winner of Bachelor Pad ‘s grand prize of $250,000. You can tell a bunch of time has passed. Elizabeth sports the old’ “I’m gonna wash that man right outta my hair” look with a shiny new haircolor.
She sets the record straight on her status with Kovacs up front: “Anyone who wants to date a player, here ya go!”
Wes Hayden and his BP crush, Gia, no longer have the pressure of her annoying hometown boyfriend. The newly single Gia is ready for love. They reenact the kissing contest from earlier in the season, except this time Gia reciprocates.
Tenley gushes that she and Kiptyn are still a real couple, while Dave and Natalie hedge around the subject a bit, saying they want to “take it slow”. Translation: They broke up.
Plea Bargain Time and The Final Vote
In a Big Brother/ Survivor type of voting setup, all of the cast members of Bachelor Pad vote for the winner. Now it’s time for the final four to plead their cases on why they each deserve the $250,000 grand prize.
Party girl Natalie promises to use the prize money to pay off her debt and give some money towards prostate cancer research.
Dave Good tells his estranged pal Wes that the only vote he cares about is his.
Tenley explains that she lost her home after her divorce and really, really wants to replace the money she and her parents lost out on.
Kiptyn says he’ll give 20% of the money to charity.
The other castmates must now vote for one couple to make it to the finals. Here’s the votes:
Craig M- Kiptyn and Tenley
Weatherman- Kiptyn and Tenley
Jessie S.- Dave and Natalie
Krisily- Dave and Natalie
Peyton- Dave and Natlaie
Jesse Beck- Dave and Natalie
Juan- Kiptyn and Tenley
Gwen- Kiptyn and Tenley
Ashley- Dave and Natalie
Michelle- Dave and Natalie
Nikki- Dave and Natalie
Wes- Dave and Natalie
So the Bachelor Pad houseguests decide that Dave and Natalie are most deserving of the money, which can only mean that Snow White must have really pissed some people off! It also means that “couple” Dave and Nat must now go against each other for the $250,000 prize.
But in an inane twist ending, the producers start playing games with the prize money, dangling it over Dave and Natalie’s heads like a carrot. Without talking to one another ahead of time, the two must decide to either “Keep” or “Share” the money. If they both say they want to keep the money, the prize money gets divided among the ousted houseguests.
In the end Dave and Natalie smartly agree to share the money.
Meanwhile, when it comes to love, Kipytn and Tenley seem to be the only Bachelor Pad couple still together. So who are the real winners here?
