This is my recipe for oven baked Bacon Chicken Drumsticks. It is super simple, and incredibly delicious. One day I was worrying about what to cook for dinner, and realized I had very little supplies at my disposal. I noticed that I had chicken drumsticks, bacon, and various seasonings. I had cooked with bacon grease before, and was delighted with the juiciness and the flavor of the chicken. This time I realized I had full slices of bacon at my disposal and was delighted to try out a new recipe. Not only are chicken drumsticks cheap, but they are widely accepted and devoured at pretty much any dinner table. For this recipe I got the regular chicken drumsticks at my local grocery store with the skin on. You can remove the skin, or simply shove the spices underneath it like I have in this recipe.
6 chicken drumsticks
6 slices of bacon
1/8th cup garlic & herb seasoning
dash of salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375 to 400 degrees F (190 to 200 degrees C).
With a knife make cut a small hole into the chicken drumstick and shove some of the garlic and herb seasoning down in the hole. Season the outside of the drumsticks with salt and pepper to taste
Gently wrap bacon around chicken drumsticks and secure with a toothpick
Bake 35-40 minutes until skin is lightly brown and juices run clear,
Remove drumsticks from the oven, and rotate them to the opposite side, gently remove tooth picks and cook for another 15 minutes
serve with 1 starch and 1 vegetable of your choosing! Enjoy.
I prefer scalloped potatoes and green beans
