The early morning rush can be a stressful time, as parents strive to ensure that their children have time for breakfast and that they get out the door in time to catch the bus or walk to school. What are some ways in which you can beat the early morning rush and get children off to school on time?
Pack Lunches the Night Before
Even if children get up an hour before they need to head out the door, there is still bound to be something that occasionally comes up that holds them up and makes them late for school. A common time waster is having to dash around the kitchen preparing packed lunches. Save time and stress by helping your children pack their lunches the night before. Or if you find that time is running out, give them money for a school lunch.
Take a Bath/shower Before Bed
Another time waster in the morning for children is when they take long baths or showers, which makes them late for school. Eliminate the need for your children to stop by the school office for another late slip by encouraging them to take a bath or shower at night before bed. Doing so will free up a lot more time in the mornings so that you can beat the morning rush and get children off to school on time.
Eliminate TV and Electronic Device Use
Some children get caught up in the morning rush, not because they get up late, but because they waste the time that they do have available by watching TV, using the computer or other electronic devices. These are early morning time robbers that can easily deprive children of time that would be better spent getting dressed or enjoying a leisurely, rather than a rushed, breakfast.
Everyone gets caught up in the morning rush from time to time, but if you find that you regularly struggle to beat the morning rush and that your children are regularly running late for school, you must take action to correct the problem. Pack lunches the night before, encourage your children to take a bath or shower before bed and eliminate TV viewing and the use of electronic devices.
