There’s a smack down about to explode onto the streets of Clinton Hill in Brooklyn. A recent conversation thread on this website, brooklynian.com seemed to indicate that there is a strict divergence over who’s got the best cup of java in the neighborhood. Here are the contenders.
Outpost Coffee: People seem quite taken with Outpost on Fulton Street in Clinton Hill as evidenced by this yelp page. While Outpost doesn’t open super early, it doesn’t have to. Moreover, it doesn’t close super early either, which can be a good thing for those late-night cramming sessions.
Pillow Café: A little more expensive than Outpost, according to reviewers on yelp Pillow Café on Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill still gets the job done. Pillow Café is close to the G train, offers free WiFi, and also has a full bar. That’s where that extra dollar sign came from!
Tillie’s of Brooklyn: This last entry into the Clinton Hill best coffee ledgers is actually just the opposite. Many of the reviewers of Tillie’s on yelp actually had really horrible things to say about this place. Like Gail Q who offered “you might have to wait until someone dies to get a seat.” Or John Q. who talked about his return to Tillie’s “in need of coffee,” and how his needs were trumped by three Tillie’s employees who were deeply involved “in conversation of soup,” to the man on line in back of him. Hmmm. Doesn’t sound like best coffee in Clinton Hill to me.
In truth, there’s no violence about to erupt. Just people filling their cup.
