Every October candy for our trick-or-treaters seems to grow increasingly expensive. Mountain View neighborhoods see large crowds of trick-or-treaters each Halloween. Considering an average bag of chocolate bite size candy bars are about $3 to $4 in the local grocery stores, where can you get better deals without spending $50 or $60 dollars?
Most often we head for the super stores in Mountain View. Costco is always a favorite. Of course you have to have a Costco membership card ($50). Walmart is another super-sized-store with less expensive candy.
There are other options. What about local dollar stores? You can get a bag of candy for only $1.00. Another possibility is party stores. If you would rather not give candy, one popular place to buy inexpensive items in bulk is Oriental Trading Company. You will have to plan ahead and factor in any shipping costs, however.
Last minute shoppers may find local Mountain View grocery store bargains if they shop for Halloween candy on Halloween day. Many stores will slash prices on candy if they have any kind of Halloween wrapper just to get rid of them.
