Olde English Tudor Inn
This traditional country inn is aptly decorated in the English Tudor style. Each room has its own theme (King, Queen, Princess, Knight, Duke, etc.). Prices range from $95 to $125 per night. When I stayed here I chose the “Knight’s Room” because of the private deck and the daybed sitting area. I also like the “Bear’s Den” because it is on the ground floor, separate from the rest of the inn, and has a private entrance. No matter which room you choose, you have access to the living room and the movies they let you borrow.
For complete privacy, you also have the option of renting the furnished Tudor cottage. The Jacuzzi and fire place add a nice romantic touch to your stay.
The grounds have adequate (and free) parking, so you can leave your car behind and walk to downtown Gatlinburg. This helps your romantic getaway remain stress-free, as parking and driving through Gatlinburg traffic is not usually a fun experience.
Olde Gatlinburg Place
These beautifully decorated suites come fully equipped with everything you will need during your romantic getaway in Gatlinburg. You and your significant other can stay in and cook in the kitchenette with all the provided cookware and eat in front of the gas fireplace or on the private balcony and enjoy the views of Gatlinburg or the Great Smoky Mountains. Some units have Jacuzzis.
Prices for the suites vary depending on length of stay, time of year, etc. I stayed here in a 1 bedroom suite during the summer (peak season) for about $100 per night. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Log Cabin Rentals in the Mountains
This is the ultimate experience for your romantic getaway. Imagine staying in a fully furnished log cabin by a flowing stream with views of the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains and no noisy neighbors. You can choose a cabin in your price range with the amenities you prefer. Some allow pets. Some do not. Some have game rooms for you to challenge your significant other to a friendly game of pool or ping pong. Most come with satellite TVs; some have wireless Internet access.
Two of my favorites are “Always and Forever” and “Stargazer.” Both are very secluded and have wrap-around porches for you to easily enjoy the views of the Great Smoky Mountains. The location is not as convenient for downtown Gatlinburg, but you can still easily make the trip during your stay. The log cabins are in the Great Smoky Mountains and close to Cades Cove, so you can take a fun hike with your significant other. I found these cabins on a website called Vacation Rentals by Owner (vrbo.com).
If you are celebrating a special occasion, you can also purchase one of the add-on packages with a spa basket, chocolate, and more.
