Wednesday night on Big Brother 12 it was time for the Power of Veto competition. With Brendon and Enzo on the chopping block, their only chance of safety this week was to win the POV. Meanwhile, even though Britney was the week 7 Head of Household, diabolical super genius Matt was still trying to get in her head and control the game. So who won the Week 7 Power of Veto and what happened at the POV ceremony on the August 25th episode of Big Brother 12?
Week 7 Power of Veto Competition
Even before the week 7 Power of Veto competition, Lane and Hayden scheme to make a power move and get Matt out. Enzo is counting on them to save him. It seems the only one who doesn’t realize the Brigade is no longer a foursome is Matt.
The POV players are: Britney, Brendon, Enzo, Matt, Lane and Hayden. The back yard is set up as the “BB Zoo”. The game is a ‘Prize and Punishment” game. Each player starts out with 50 veto points, which they may trade for prizes. To increase their POV points they can accept a punishment. The first person to buzz in wins and all the prize winners are anonymous.
I must say, this is the first “competition” this season that didn’t bore me to death. Brendon is playing to win and no punishment is out of the question. He gets saddled with shaving his head, being handcuffed to another houseguest for 24 hours, taking nasty “chum” baths and being a Have-Not (no food or warm showers) for 3 weeks. Whew- this guy is a glutton for punishment!
Meanwhile, the greedy Brigade members clean up on the prizes. Lane wins a phone call from home, while Hayden wins $5000 and a trip to Hawaii. Enzo, who is on the block and actually trying to win this thing, gets stuck wearing a penguin suit for a week and giving all of his clothes to charity.
After all the points are tallied, Brendon wins this week’s POV.
But first, Brendon must shave his head, making him look even more like a Neanderthal than before. And even worse than his hairless fate is the fact that Brendon must be handcuffed to a houseguest (he cleverly picks Britney) for 24 hours, while taking hourly chum baths (a bath in green goop). Britney doesn’t have to get doused with goo but she does have to wake up with him every hour throughout the night. Man, her reign as HOH really stinks!
Pandora’s Box Redux
Oh Britney, surely you must have known that with Matt getting the Diamond Power of Veto and Brendon getting a relaxing spa vacation, that the third time with Pandora’s Box would not be the charm? But you opened it anyway and guess what- you unleashed a beast with Big Brother Season 10 narcissist Jessie Godderz paying you a visit. That’s right, the muscleman meathead is back to bore- I mean entertain!- Britney with his workout advice for an hour while the other houseguests enjoy a swanky Hawaiian tiki party. Nice.
While it was a no brainer that Brendon would use the Veto to take himself on the block, his replacement could have gone either way. In the end, Britney puts up Matt as the replacement nominee. So with Matt and Enzo both on the block, a Brigade member will definitely be going home this week. Not that the Brigade is much of an alliance anymore, but it’s amazing it took 7 weeks to break the original 4 up.
But if you’re a Brendon fan, don’t get too comfy just yet. This Thursday there will be a double eviction, so no one is safe this week.
