The Bioneers Moving Image Film Festival is about far more than innovative film and cutting-edge directorial and cinematic choices, although it’s about that, too. It’s a collection of documentaries showcased by Bioneers, a nonprofit educational organization that focuses on fixing the environmental, scientific and social dilemmas that plague us as a world community.
On Oct. 10, Red Vic on Haight is hosting one of the movies in this year’s Bioneers Festival: “An Ecology of Mind,” a biographical account of Gregory Bateson’s work, shot and directed by his daughter. This world-class documentary will be shown with “Circle of Stories,” a short, 28-minute exploration of Native American storytelling highlighting photography, art and music.
If you’d like to check it out, the film starts on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 1:45 p.m. Tickets are $10. Red Vic, if you haven’t been, is located at 1727 Haight St.
