Many residents of Birmingham are voicing concern about the increase of coyote sightings in Birmingham, and in neighboring Troy. These residents are prompted even more by the high-publicized story of the small dog that was attacked by a coyote in Troy.
Residents are warned to avoid going up to coyotes as they can be very dangerous. As the story in Troy points out, some coyotes might consider small domesticated animals as possible food sources. If you spot a coyote, you are asked to call the Birmingham Police Department at 248-530-1899. Make sure that you report the exact spot that you saw the coyote, and if you saw more than one at a time.
